Charlotte NC Agent nets More Listings

A local Charlotte, NC area Realtor has been netting a lot more listings lately. During what most agents see as the slowest time of the year, this agent has been adding more real estate listings. Right now, he has 10 listings and has plans to have up to 20 by March!

How to get more listings

There are many tools available to real estate agents and Realtors today. The key to getting more listings is knowing how to market… homes. “Well, duh” you may say. But too many Realtors today are more focused on only marketing themselves that they forget what they are hired to do… sell the HOME.

When you sit down with a potential seller, what do you really tell them? Yeah, I know you have your presentation and how great you are as an agent… but when you leave, do they feel you are more focused on getting your name out, or are you really focused on selling THEIR home?

So how can you show them you really mean business in selling their home? Make sure the tools you use focus on them… not so much on you. For example… websites. Most agent’s websites are focused on marketing… well, the agent. They aren’t really focused on the seller’s home. Sure, you can add homes to your website, but as a seller I want to be the FOCUS, not have my home competing against the other 200+ your company currently has for sale. So show them a website that is focused only on their home!

Single Property Websites

Today’s agents (and FSBOs) are turning towards Single Property Websites as a way to showcase a home. A good SPW program will provide you with a dedicated website for the home. Many programs run as much as $50 or more per website, but there are some newer companies out there that offer “free” sites. (Most free sites are VERY limited)

Be sure to explore your options and know what you are getting. Don’t buy into the “Free is For Me” mentality… remember, thats the thinking you are always fighting when someone is debating on hiring you or selling “by owner.” You are worth the moeny for a reason.. and a good service is as well.
